The Earth won't die. I doubt the mass extinction we are causing will be any worse than the Permian extinction that occurred a quarter billion years ago. Most species will die. But a few angiosperms will survive, a few mammals, a few birds. A jellyfish species here, an amphibian species there. In a few million years, the descendants of these survivors will have blossomed into a new tree of life even more diverse than what existed before human civilization.

Talked to a local punk band: they said it's definitely digital. It lacks the warmth of a Whiteface ProCo Rat or we should boost the lower mids to add it back. They were also pretty confused as towards why I was asking them a question about something that typically relates to guitars, but they were regardless eager to help.

Claiming that it has limited application at this point is like someone in the 60s claiming that computers have limited application because they fill a room and run on 4 KB of RAM. Drug trials are expensive, but mass production makes most of them (relatively) affordable in the long run.

I don't see a very wide application because of the limited number of very small doses, implantation complications, and cost. I presume that the drug used was taken at long intervals and has low possibility of overdose.
Perhaps it would be useful with non-compliant patients as you suggest.

I guess I saw it as Dilbert concluding that major monotheisms are nothing but trouble. In other words, even if they're true we're better off not getting sucked into them and building arks and other such ridiculous nonsense. Scott Adams is irritating in a lot of ways, but I don't remember him being a religious apologist.

On the other hand, I do see that your interpretation could also be the intended one, so it's possible I've missed some other annoying thing about him. Do you know of any additional info that might help determine which it is?

Unfortunately, standards are half the battle. Although, good science and math standards are more-or-less necessary for a high level education. The state and teachers ultimately have to adopt and implement them at that level of expectation.

Silly that Indiana has a grade of A... They, like Kansas (in the past) are looking to pass a bill to teach Creationism. If passed I wonder how long until their grade of A drops to F... I always wondered how this type of teaching enters the curriculum (well not really, I'm being sarcastic) when it has no facts (other than magic) to back it.
